Bottle 1339 - Dutch Smakship in a Bottle

In 2011 I made my oldest daughter a Smakship, a Dutch ship that sailed over rivers and coasts of Holland, Denmark, Germany, Norway, England and other countries in Europe between 1660 until 1850. The hull is made of pear wood and put in the bottle in two sections. The upper part of the hull was made from very thin triplex (0.5 mm). Inside a "fence" there is a construction that holds the mizzen mast. The structure above the deck, the house and the loading part, is made out of pear wood. At the bow is a windlass and the jib. A few hatches are on deck. The rigging goes from the two topsails past the end of the gaff. The sea with the white tipped gulfs was made with plasticine. The bottle rests on a stand that say: "1660 Smakshhip 1850."
