Bottle 1310 - Kalmar Nyckel Tall Ship in a Bottle

For the Model of The Flying Dutchman Matthias Schultz has chosen the CALMAR NYCKEL (Kalmar Nyckel) as an archetype,and animal bones as material! Bone is rarely used this way because it is really difficult to handle and requires special discipline and technique. But because this is a legendary ghost ship that will never make port and is doomed to sail the oceans forever, so Schultz wanted to use a scary material. The ship’s hull is divided into three parts with all of the rigging separated from it. The guns are made to pass through the bottleneck so they can be fixed later. After the hull is positioned the rigging was added millimeter by millimeter and fixed at the bottom and the top of each mast with yarn. The dark and stormy sea is made of a mixture of sealant and gypsum. The bottle used is a 2.7 liter vase sealed with a cork that has a piece of bone on the end. There is a Turk’s Head knot on the bottle neck.
