Bottle 1039 - Alex Haley

Date Added: December 30, 2012
This is a model of the U.S.C.G. Cutter 'Alex Haley', completed 12-18-2012. The ship is in service presently and docked at Kodiak Island, Alaska. The bottle is a Newcastle Ale bottle, 7 3/4 inches top to bottom. It has a 2 3/4inch outer diameter. The ship itself is 4 inches in length. The portals and gun tripods are cut from carbon paper, the railings are made from thread, as are the towers. The most nerve racking task was pressing the 'flag' bottle caps onto the bottles, one slip or crack then would have destroyed the bottle. Luckily all went well.
